A YouTube account that recently threatened to destroy the car of a vlogger if she did not support Vice President Leni Robredo’s campaign rally in Bulacan City is a newly created account posing as the official account of senatorial aspirant Luke Espiritu.
Espiritu does not have an official YouTube account. He only has official accounts on Facebook and Twitter.
Espiritu is running under the Partido Lakas ng Masa (PLM) with Leody De Guzman as standard bearer, not with Robredo. He was not present in Robredo’s Bulacan City sortie on March 5.
The imposter account created March 3 calls itself as “Luke Espiritu” and has appropriated the senatorial bet’s image as its profile photo. Its About page does not provide any information about the account.
The poseur posted on March 4 a comment on a video published by vlogger Kristy Halili on her YouTube channel, threatening to wreck her car if she didn’t wear a pink shirt in Robredo’s rally as a sign of support.
The comment reads:
Kristy recruit kita sa HALALAN. Ikaw lang pag asa namin para sa Bulacan Area. Suot mo lang yung Pink Tshirt ni Leni para bukas. March 5, 2022, or else sisirain pa namin yang kotse mo (Kristy, I will recruit you. You are our only hope in the Bulacan Area. Wear a pink T-shirt in support of Leni tomorrow, March 5, 2022, or else we will destroy your car).
Halili posted a screengrab of the threat on her Facebook My Day where she has about 500,000 followers. Her YouTube account has 150,000 followers.
As of writing, the video where the impostor account posted the comment has around 6,000 views, 350 likes and 97 comments.
Recently, Espiritu became the man of the hour when he refuted fellow senatorial aspirants Larry Gadon and Harry Roque’s false claims about martial law and the Marcoses during the Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI) senatorial debate. The phrase “huwag kang bastos (Don’t be rude)!” trended when he called out Gadon for continuously interrupting him during his turn. (GD)
